We stayed at Sparhof during our visit to the WW1 museums and memorials in the Ypres area. The hotel's location on a quiet country lane was ideal for exploring. We loved our spacious room with a comfortable bed, wooden bath, and walk-in shower. The private outside terrace was a great bonus. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of options, including eggs cooked to order. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
I do recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely and romantic escape at this guest house, located in a peaceful and secluded area of East Flanders. The welcoming staff was incredibly helpful and provided us with all the necessary information to enjoy our stay to the fullest. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful outdoor terrace, perfect for sipping on drinks and taking in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was also exceptional, with a good selection of tasty and fresh food.
One minor downside is that there were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. the steep and narrow stairs leading to the first floor may pose a challenge for elderly guests.

As longer term business travelers, we appreciated the peaceful and rustic atmosphere of the property. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and the breakfast provided was outstanding. The location was also great, offering a lovely country setting while still being close to Ypres and the Last Post ceremony.
Felt immediately at home, no reason to complain.

The rural location of this hotel was peaceful and charming. the warm and attentive staff were quick to respond to queries and made the stay enjoyable. the large and comfortable rooms were equipped with good wifi which was great for a relaxing break.
The breakfast offered limited options with nothing to satisfy those with a hearty appetite.

Peaceful and rustic, best wooden bath tub, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast presentation, challenging but worth finding.

I had the most good stay at a charming hotel nestled in the picturesque countryside of East Flanders. The room at Sparhof was bright, airy, and provided the perfect retreat after my long drive through the UK and northern France. The attentive and cute owners ensured my comfort throughout my stay, and breakfast each morning was a true highlight. I particularly enjoyed the freshly made scrambled eggs - superb! Despite the secluded location, I had no trouble finding the hotel, and the lovely outdoor terrace provided a peaceful spot to unwind. The extensive grounds added to the overall charm of the setting. The inclusive dinner at the hotel's excellent restaurant was a culinary delight, and I have only heard great things about this dining experience. It's worth mentioning that the owners directed me to another fantastic restaurant nearby on the day the hotel's restaurant was closed. Although there were a few minor inconveniences like the lack of tea making facilities in the room and the quirky sloping beams that caused a few head bumps for my husband, these were easily outweighed by the warm hospitality and overall really good experience. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat with great food and friendly hosts, I highly recommend this hidden gem. I cannot wait to return to Sparhof for another nice stay.

The hotel itself was cozy and comfortable, and the upcoming addition of a pool in the grounds will make it even more amazing. We loved the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, and the beautiful outdoor dining area was the perfect spot to unwind. an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend!
